Salton Sea
Salton Sea, an accidental saline lake approximately a 3 hour drive from the San Diego & Los Angeles. Due to the rising salinity of the water few fish survive. The shore is made up of skeletal fish remains and shells. I'll let you do the rest of the research...
We stayed at the Salt Creek Primiative Campground for about $10/nite. No facilities here except for the Andy Gump toilets. You can park right along the sand...careful your tires dont leave the pavement.
***Yea bet you wish you had these parking skills***
After spending the nite like this..yes we needed rapelling ropes to get to the rear of the trailer, a tow truck with a winch came to the rescue and pulled us out..seems this is a regular occurrence here.
